She berthed in Guernsey with passengers for the first time yesterday morning just before 08:00, but then left for Portsmouth instead of heading south.
“Due to the late discovery of a technical issue whilst Condor Islander was being readied for service, last night’s first sailing from Portsmouth to the islands operated to Guernsey only,” a Condor spokesperson said.
“Passengers booked for Jersey were accommodated on Condor Liberation today at 12.30pm and tomorrow’s Islander sailing will operate to both islands. We regret the inconvenience caused.”
Islander was due to arrive for its first commercial sailing on Saturday, but the weather caused all ferry services to be cancelled.
There has been no more details offered as to why she could dock in Guernsey but not Jersey.
She is scheduled to arrive in Guernsey from Portsmouth at 03:00 and leave for Jersey at 04:00 before returning to the UK.
