It comes amid speculation that the ferry company has been struck by financial woes. The ferry’s CEO, John Napton, said in a statement this afternoon:

“CONDOR has been working with its stakeholders to overcome a temporary but challenging time. 

We are confident that this is very near to being resolved and will have no impact on our services now or in the long term. 

The company confirmed it was not in administration but declined to comment when asked by Express whether it had asked for additional funding from the governments of Guernsey and Jersey. 

It comes just weeks after the ferry firm came under fire for announcing an intention to increase freight fees by 19%. 

Meanwhile, both Guernsey and Jersey announced today a jointly commissioned contingency berthing trial being held over the weekend.
