Five years after Covid-19 forced the Bailiwick into lockdown, HSC is offering those eligible the chance to receive a vaccination booster.

Public Health Services said, following the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) outlining the eligibility criteria, health professionals are ready to start delivering the 2025 COVID-19 Spring Booster programme.

Public Health Services said it is important for eligible islanders to receive their Spring Booster “as it remains the most effective method for protecting yourself from this potentially severe illness”.

The Spring Booster programme will be delivered from early April until June, primarily by Primary Care and offered free of charge for eligible individuals.

Who is eligible?

The Covid-19 Spring Booster programme is available for:

  • adults aged 75 years and over
  • residents in a care home for older adults
  • anyone aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed (as defined in tables 3 and 4 of the COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book)

Those who are eligible will be notified directly.

The boosters will be available from individual patient’s doctor’s surgeries.

The States vaccination team will provide vaccines to others who are eligible but unable to visit their GP surgery including children aged between 6-months and 11-years who are immunosuppressed.

Arrangements are being made directly with care and residential homes for older adults.

Arrangements are also being made for the vaccine to be available for eligible patients in Alderney and Sark.
