The first Open Planning Meeting saw more than four hours of discussions and speeches come to nothing, as the Development and Planning Authority Committee decided to defer any decision.

At first it looked as though the final decision would be made behind closed doors, but the DPA decided to put on today’s meeting to ensure the many residents who have been involved in the process can see how that decision is made.

The application for Avondale and Domarie Vineries requested a “change of use of horticultural buildings, glasshouse and land to south-east of site to form 15 storage units and two open yards.”

The decision to defer was made so the Authority’s members could get more information on vehicle access and traffic safety from the applicant. That information has since been acquired, and will be shown in today’s meeting.

Things are kicking off in the Delancey Room at Beau Sejour at 13:15.
