“Upon arrival we found the 10 metre by four metre decking area was alight and also involved was a liquid petroleum gas cylinder,” said GFRS Crew Commander Milton Le Moignan. “The cause is still under investigation.”

Mr Le Moignan said the fire was visible from a fair distance away.
“We could see the flames from the Salerie Corner, more due to the gas cylinder which, under heat, was expelling its contents into the fire causing the large flames,” he said.
He said there had been no casualties and that the fire had been contained to the property’s garden area.
Two fire engines attended the call-out.
