Damage was caused to saplings at the park on two separate occassions last year and the young trees there have once again been targeted.
St Sampson’s Senior Constable Paul Le Pelley condemned the act, saying the parish was once again having to pay for the behaviour of the minority.
“They are two saplings which have been broken, both replacement saplings,” he said. “It is just mindless, thoughtless and annoying.”

“We will have to replace them again at the expense of the parish – we cannot let the minority spoil things for the rest of the community.”
Deputy Le Pelley asked that any dog walkers or park users keep their “eyes and ears open” for any suspicious behaviour at the park.
If people ever see any such behaviour or damage, they are asked to contact the constables or police as soon as possible to maximise the chance of finding the culprits.

Other people have also expressed their disappointment with the vandalism, including the Guernsey Velo Club. Members of the group helped to replant the trees after they were last damaged.
