The landlord of Taylors Coffee Shop, McAuley (Market Buildings) Ltd, have requested that the business vacate the premises within the next month.

The notice was served earlier this week.

The landlord is represented by Ferbrache & Farrell LLP which declined to answer questions when approached by Express, saying: It would not be appropriate for us or our client to comment on the matter”.

Express had not received a response from the landlord by the time of publication.

Deputy Taylor was also approached for comment earlier this week and had not responded by the time of publication.

The eviction notice seen by Express suggests Taylor’s Coffee Shop was on a rolling monthly lease. It also implies issues with maintenance of the building.

At 09:00 on Wednesday 16 November Deputy Taylor announced he was resigning as Vice-President of the Development & Planning Authority

His announcement came just thirty minutes before an open planning meeting concerning the redevelopment of Leale’s Yard. He alleged “conflicts of interest” within the Authority and accused other members of “pre-determination” of the Leale’s Yard application ahead of the open planning meeting.

All four remaining members of the DPA have denied any conflict of interest. Deputy Taylor is expected to ask permission from the Bailiff to make a statement concerning his registration at the States meeting due to start on 23 November.
