A questionnaire will be sent to everyone who lives in Alderney. It’ll contain questions pertaining to the preservation presentation States Members received from the IHRA, allowing more people to have a say on the recommendations being made.

It comes as a consultation process continues to legally protect Lager Sylt; the only concentration camp built on British soil.
It was meant to have already been done but was left off a ‘to do’ list for unknown reasons.
The IHRA maintains that the views of Alderney’s residents remain of paramount importance, while also consulting with government and its international partners.
“This is a very sensitive matter for many people on Alderney and some very real concerns were expressed at the public meeting,” said Deputy Chair of the Policy and Finance Committee, Ian Carter.
“It is only right that we give everyone the opportunity to express their opinion before any decisions are made.”

The questionnaire will be sent out in early Autumn, said Mr Carter.
