The Dolphin Discovery Trail treasure hunt app is now live, and available for immediate use!

Called Turfhunt, the new app is free to download and use.

Donations are welcome though with the money going to the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey, the beneficiaries of all money raised through the Dolphin Discovery Trail.

The charities have said that if a code is requested to download or use the app, users should enter ‘EADASD’.

While the app is free to download and use, the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey are seeking a sponsor for it, with a minimum requested sponsorship of £1000.

The Dolphin Discovery Trail involves finding 62 dolphin sculptures located around Guernsey. They’ve all been sponsored by businesses, charities, and organisations and decorated in unique styles.

The Trufhunt app allows users to gain points for locating each dolphin and an additional point for uploading a picture with, or of, the dolphin, with a total of 124 points possible.

Those who achieve all points will be entered into a prize draw, with the top prize being an Apple Watch donated by telecoms provider JT.

Although there is a dolphin sculpture in Herm, the app’s treasure hunt locations are all within Guernsey, with a poster representing the Herm dolphin at Guernsey Harbour to allow everyone the chance to to achieve full points without leaving Guernsey.

“We are delighted to announce that the Dolphin Discovery Trail treasure hunt app Turfhunt is now live after a huge amount of testing mostly thanks to the staff volunteering from Artex,” said Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager.

Andrew Sparks, Autism Guernsey Director added: “We are overjoyed to announce the treasure hunt app Turfhunt is now live.

“Thank you to everyone that has helped so far and if anyone would like to sponsor the treasure hunt app to find all the dolphins and be in with a chance to win a prize then please do get in touch.

“A special mention to Bailiwick Express who have created the website and will be featuring every dolphin through their news channels, thank you so much.”

Express is proud to be the media partner for the Dolphin Discovery Trail.

You can find out more about the event, the dolphins, and the artists who designed them on the official website HERE.

The dolphins will be on display until the end of August, with an auction for the sculptures planned to go ahead in September at the Peninsula Hotel. This will add to the money raised for both charities.
