The Pilot reported to Air Traffic Control that the aircraft was about to ditch into the sea around 14:00.
All three RNLI lifeboats, Ports of Jersey’s pilot boat ‘Rival’, Channel Islands Air Search, and a French rescue helicopter were sent to the area.
The air search was coordinated by Jersey Coastguard.
A spokesperson for Ports of Jersey confirmed this afternoon that the pilot and one passenger were recovered from the sea and taken back to St. Helier by the RNLI lifeboat.
They said the pair were “safe and well”.
