Everyone is welcome to attend the sessions and ask any questions they may have before students return to school in September.

Members of the Committee, Senior Officers and school leaders will be available to discuss the proposals and answer any questions.

The sessions are as follows:

  • Wednesday 17 July – 16:00-19:30 at St Sampson’s High School Library
  • Wednesday 24 July – 09:00-11:00 at Les Beaucamps High School Hall
  • Wednesday 24 July – 17:00-19:00 at Les Beaucamps High School Hall
  • Monday 2 September – 17:00-19:00 at St Sampson’s High School Library

They will take place at the two sites which have been chosen to accommodate the future schools – Baubigny and Les Beaucamps.

ESC’s plans for the schools were published earlier this monthwith a number of proposed changes, including a longer school day and staggered lunch breaks.

It is thought the entire project – combining the current 11-18 schools into one college with two sites and a separate post-16 offering at Les Ouzuets – will cost around £157million.

However, the committee estimates £100million of savings over a 50 year period compared with the current model.

The States will debate the proposals in September, with development of the schools due to begin in spring next year.
