The airline already uses ATR-600s so the replacement plane won’t have any impact on existing bookings.

The Eastern Airways plane arrived in Guernsey earlier this week and was used for the Manchester route on Thursday while G-OATR was undergoing its maintenance programme.
An Aurigny spokesperson said leasing the aircraft was a “convenient” solution to a temporary problem. It also fits with the airline’s wider plans to streamline its fleet – which is expected to include the sale of the Embraer Jet.
The spokesperson also said that we’ll see Aurigny leasing more aircraft in the future as and when it’s necessary especially for training purposes.
“The type of ATR-600 being leased is the same model currently used in Aurigny’s fleet, meaning it is convenient for use on a temporary basis.
“The ability to lease aircraft as and when needed was a significant factor in the decision to align and simplify Aurigny’s fleet. In such events, leasing an additional aircraft is a simple process and minimises disruption to Aurigny’s schedule and our passengers.
“We plan to use short-term wet-lease capacity to accommodate crew training and fleet changes as we standardise our aircraft type.”
