The incident led to a delay with the Bristol 7:20 departure. Guernsey Airport has published the following statement:
“The runway at Guernsey Airport was out of operation for approximately an hour this morning, from around 7.20am, due to a fault with the runway edge lights.
“The early morning services to Gatwick and Southampton were unaffected and left on schedule, but there was a delay to the Bristol 7.20am departure.
“The faulty lights were replaced and the runway reopened at 8.41am.”
