Students at The Ladies’ College have won places at leading universities across the UK and worldwide – including Oxford and Durham.

The school’s students received offers from a range of highly ranked universities, including Edinburgh, Leeds and Bath – and will study subjects from Archaeology to Acting.

Among the students is Bailey Austin, who will be jetting off to New York with a full Presidential Scholarship to Union College.

The merit-based scholarship is one of the college’s most-competitive awards for international students and recognises exceptional academic and personal achievement.

Another student to take up a place outside the UK is Sophie Brooks, who received an offer from Leiden University in the Netherlands after attending The Ladies’ College since she was four.

Vice Principal Morag Herring said the school was “incredibly proud of the girls and are excited to watch them as they prepare for the next step in higher education”.

One student will be spending her time closer to home, however, after gaining a place to train locally as a nurse, alongside studying for a degree at Middlesex University.

Other students will study subjects including Medicine, Law and Chemical Engineering.

Ms Herring added: “The variety of subjects and calibre of universities reflects the hard work and dedication of the girls.

“All of them have made the most of their time at the college, whether through leadership roles or simply being an active part of college life.”
