Ex-deputy Heidi Soulsby MBE has been appointed to the Les Bourgs Hospice board of directors as a trustee, a move they say brings solid experience in the island’s health and social care sector.
Les Bourgs said she would bring decades of leadership experience to the charity at a time when demand for its services are growing.
According to Jurat Stephen Jones OBE, the Chair of Les Bourgs Hospice, her appointment would bring “strategic acumen, deep understanding of health policy, and unwavering commitment to community wellbeing.
“As we face increasing complexity in patient needs and an ageing population, Heidi’s experience will be invaluable in helping us shape the future of hospice care in Guernsey.”
Mrs Soulsby said she would support the organisation which has a “special place in the hearts of so many islanders.
“I’ve long admired the compassionate, holistic care it provides to patients and their families. After stepping back from politics, I wanted to continue making a meaningful contribution to our community. Joining the Board feels like a natural step, and I’m honoured to support the Hospice’s mission during this critical time.”
Mrs Soulsby held several senior roles while serving as a deputy including on public accounts, Health & Social Care, and Policy & Resources.
She was key to developing partnership working between health and care bodies which focused on involving third parties to deliver better services for the public.
