Aurigny, Guernsey Dairy, and Visit Guernsey have teamed up to offer free tubs of ice cream aboard Aurigny’s first arrivals of the day during the school holidays.
Aurigny representatives are handing out the 125ml tubs of ice cream in the arrivals hall, which have been provided by the Guernsey Dairy, for passengers immediately disembarking their flights.
The initiative is specifically targeting the “busy school holiday period” and is being handed out between 8.30am and 8.45am.
Lois Marshall, marketing and communications executive at Aurigny, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Visit Guernsey and Guernsey Dairy to encourage visitors to get around the island, supporting local traders and kiosks this summer.”
Meanwhile, Guernsey Dairy’s operations director, Andrew Tabel, added: “It’s a great way to welcome visitors to the island and introduce them to the great taste of some of Guernsey Dairy’s award-winning products.”
As well as providing a warm welcome to visitors, it also aims to promote another initiative, the “Guernsey Ice Cream Route.”
This tourism initiative is designed to get visitors out and about, exploring the island’s natural beauty, historical sites (like dolmens, Martello towers, and Fort Grey), and stunning coastal walks, with the added incentive of ice cream stops at local kiosks and cafés.
