Oddsmakers still have Henry Cavill in the running to secure ’00’ status, with one online betting guide now marking the Jersey-born actor as the third most likely selection for the next James Bond.
According to new estimates from betting experts at Online Betting Guide, the Jerseyman has a 16.7% probability of taking on the role, placing him behind Theo James (30.8%) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (50%).
In addition to his time as Superman in blockbuster films Man of Steel (2013) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Cavill is well known for his role in popular Netflix show The Witcher.
He also took the lead in Guy Ritchie’s action-packed spy thriller The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015), which bolstered debate over whether the Jerseyman orders his martinis shaken or stirred.
His odds were slashed again in 2022 after he appeared in an advert with an Aston Martin.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s refreshed position as the estimated frontrunner for the role comes after he signed a high-profile ambassador deal with luxury watchmaker Omega, which has been synonymous with Bond for decades.
Jake Ashton, an entertainment betting expert at Online Betting Guide, said: “The Omega deal may not confirm anything officially, but in the world of Bond betting, timing is everything.
“Taylor-Johnson’s return to the top of the market speaks volumes.”
