The ‘Future Sark’ community engagement project has launched, aimed at gathering perspectives from residents to help determine the long-term direction of the island.
The process will run for four weeks, with a new focus question released every seven days.
The answers to those questions will help inform a ‘Future Sark framework’ which Chief Pleas says will identify “priorities for the future” and that it “will support decision-making by Chief Pleas”.
Sark residents can participate through several channels, including physical drop boxes found across the island, while email responses can be sent to hello@futuresark.com, and there’s also a WhatsApp group to provide information and progress reports.
The information gathered during the initial month will serve as the foundation for the next phases, which will feature workshops, an island-wide survey, and finally the development of the Future Sark framework.

Natalie Tighe, a Sark Conseiller, commented: “This engagement phase is an important first step in developing a shared understanding of our priorities for the future of Sark.
“We want all islanders to have their say, whether that’s about what makes Sark special, what improvements they would like to see, or what they miss most when they travel away from the island.
“By getting involved early, islanders can make the case for what they would like to focus on and help set the agenda for the workshops that will run in June.”
Further details are available on posters throughout the island and on the Future Sark website.
