The ecumenical service was held at Braye Harbour from 10:30 yesterday, when the island was being pelted by rain.

The singing of hymns accompanied the prayers and blessings offered by the island’s Christian leaders.

The service allows members of the community the chance to thank those whose lives revolve around the sea.
