The Lieutenant Governor was Guest of Honour at a celebration of South Africa in Guernsey.
The Royal Commonwealth Society hosted the event at the newly reopened Duke Hotel on Saturday night.
The evening followed the wider Commonwealth Day celebrations held earlier last week, which saw the South African flag flown from the mast at Guernsey’s Weighbridge roundabout, along with the flags of the other Commonwealth nations.

The evening saw invited guests mingling while enjoying canapés, wines, and cocktails.
A South African Sparkling wine was offered to guests on arrival, followed by options from the canapés menu, designed by the South African staff of The Duke Hotel.
A South African brandy was also available along with cocktails during the evening.
The Royal Commonwealth Society had chosen South Africa as its nation of note for Commonwealth Day 2026 in Guernsey.
Guests were invited to wear national dress or uniforms.
