His Excellency Ambassador Edwin Afande, the Deputy Kenyan High Commissioner has been in Guernsey, as the Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) marked Commonwealth Day 2025.

The Society organised a series of events to celebrate Commonwealth Day, and to honour the occasion, they arranged for His Excellency Amb. Afande to meet many people from his home country living and working in the island.

The day commenced with the flying of Commonwealth flags from the Weighbridge roundabout mast yesterday morning, followed by a public gathering at La Vallette Bathing Pools.

His Excellency observed as fellow countryman Kevin Mungai took part in a sea swimming demonstration. 

Later, His Excellency Amb. Afande, delivered a formal address at Les Rocquettes Hotel, where Kenyan canapés were provided.
