Some of the best photos appear to have been taken from the west and northern coasts, but people living in town and St Martins have also shared photos to their social media accounts.

Very rarely visible this far south in the northern hemisphere, the chance of seeing the Northern Lights was increased yesterday when a strong geomagnetic storm formed.
Both the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued rare solar storm warnings, with such storms increasing people’s chances of seeing the lights when combined with clear skies.
While the geomagnetic storm has decreased in strength, forecasters say there are likely to be further sightings of the Aurora Borealis on Saturday night too.
Sky-gazers are advised to wait until at least 22:30 as it needs to be a dark and clear night.
