It will be the 187th scheduled hearing since the young Guernsey woman’s death in 2013.

Miss Groves’ father, Vic Groves, said the hearing was scheduled “much sooner than expected” in light of the global pandemic, but it’s still not clear whether witnesses will actually be able to attend court in line with the current restrictions.

The court will use video conferencing software to connect with the Central Jail in Srinagar, where the accused, Richard de Wit, is being held.

Last week marked seven years since he first faced charges for Miss Groves’ murder, which he denies.

No hearings have been able to take place since 28 February and evidence from eight witnesses is still yet to be heard.
