Sara Macefield, a Travel Writer with the Telegraph, and her twin teenage daughters and husband spent some time at the animal shelter in Guernsey during their recent visit to the island on the Crystal Symphony Cruise Liner.

They spent half a day with the team of staff and volunteers at the facility in St Andrews.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager, was pleased with the resulting publicity for the charity; “A huge thanks to Sara and her family for helping and the lovely write up in the Telegraph.”

Mr Byrne said; “It was lovely to met Sara when she visited and helped with her family during their holiday break off the Crystal Symphony.

“We have a number of days with the Crystal Cruises each year where they spend half a day with the team helping with the animals and having a tour. They have been wonderful experiences as we get to meet lovely people from all around the world that care very much for animals.

“For those wanting to volunteer our next induction is next Tuesday at 18:30 and all are welcome. For those wanting to see some of the animals in our care you can walk around for a small donation seven days a week 11:00 to 16:00.”

The next volunteer induction evening is on Tuesday at 18:30 and all are welcome.
