Tiffany Anna has been in Monaco taking part in the UPAINT Urban Street Art festival, raising money for ocean conservation projects.
This year, the theme of UPAINT was ‘The Ocean’ to coincide with the United Nations Ocean Conference that took place on 9-13 June in Nice, and artists were asked to paint a 4m x 2m mural based around this area of conservation.
Ms Anna chose to paint a bloom of jellyfish.

“I wanted my piece to be bold, vibrant and colourful and really reflect the beauty of ocean life as well as my artistic style.
“Three canvases formed part of my mural, allowing me to create three individual pieces that could be enjoyed separately but also came together seamlessly to form the larger piece.”
“UPAINT was born from a desire to offer a space for free expression to committed urban artists, in a unique setting between sea and mountains,” said Alberto Colman, Founder & CEO.
“In Monaco, where art meets the environment, we wanted to create a vibrant festival, full of meaning, and resolutely turned towards the world.”

Facing the Mediterranean, the event is based on the concept of a live street art festival featuring on-site performances and artworks created in real-time, that are later auctioned to benefit environmental causes, which this year was for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
With the public able to access the large-scale outdoor murals painted live by the sea, to celebrate the power of street art and it’s part in charitable causes.
For four days, 12 artists from France, Italy, and the UK were performing live in Larvotto, where the festival has been held since 2017.
“It was so inspiring to paint alongside such an amazing line up of international artists,” said Ms Anna.

“It’s such a unique and fun way to showcase art, and in particular street art, as well as raise money for some great causes.
“It was also lovely that HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco took the time to come and speak to us all about the pieces we had painted.”
