SHAPES AND SHADOWS: An Exhibition by Ted McDonaugh

Next week is your LAST chance to visit ‘Shapes and Shadows’… Don’t miss out!

Guernsey Arts are thrilled to celebrate sculptor Ted McDonaugh, in his first solo exhibition after decades of skillfully creating abstract pieces from stone. ‘Shapes and Shadows’ will be on display at the Greenhouse Gallery within Candie Museum, from 5th July until 18th August.

Meticulously hand carved from Caen Limestone, Ted’s work each has its own distinctive interactions with the light when focused upon. Shapes and Shadows are built onto the stone as each sculpture is viewed in the round. Traditional techniques combine with conceptual thought processes in this unique and exciting exhibition.

Normal admission applies. FREE entry for DiscoveryPass holders.

Hearing Stones at St Andrew’s Church

Following last summer’s well-received Pilgrimage to Bach concert series, Guernsey-born violin virtuoso David Le Page has joined forces with local writers Simon De La Rue and Gillian Jackson to produce a celebration – through music and the spoken word – of the famously hard-wearing rock on which the island’s culture has developed.

The project will culminate in three, candle-lit, evening concerts in some of our most ancient churches.

The first of these exciting performances is due to take place in St Andrews Church next Friday the 16th of August from 8pm.

The event is free admission and donations are welcome. Save the date!
