That created a vacancy which will be filled by Jessica Roland, Managing Partner of Mourant’s Guernsey office.
Ms Roland started her career as as Solicitor in England & Wales in 1997 and was admitted as a Guernsey Advocate just before the turn of the century.
She became a Partner at Mourant in 2005, was appointed as a Notary Public the following year, and went on to become Managing Partner of Mourant’s Guernsey office in 2013.

Mourant’s Global Managing Partner Jonathan Rigby said the firm was “pleased and very proud” of her appointment as Guernsey’s new Deputy Bailiff.
“We will miss her very much, but recognise that this is a real honour and personal achievement for her,” he said. “She has played a significant role in the development and growth of our firm in Guernsey and the success of our litigation practice. We wish her all the very best in this new chapter of her career. Congratulations Jessica!”
The office of Deputy Bailiff was created in 1969. Appointments are made following a recommendation from the Bailiff. This recommendation is conveyed to the Ministry of Justice and the Lord Chancellor, who will then make a recommendation to Her Majesty The Queen for approval.
