Organised by Mark Guillou, one of the men behind Sarkfest, Hermfest will be held over three days with the Mermaid Tavern the focal point of the event.

Mr Guillou is working with Shaun Broughton of Event Hire Guernsey to put on the event, with Herm Island.

Herm Island said on Facebook that it is “delighted and excited to announce that the first Hermfest will be taking place this summer”.

Further information around ticket prices, accommodation, and the music line-up are due to be published after the Easter break.

Hermfest’s organisers used to be involved in Sarkfest – an event held annually since 2019.

That festival was set up after the end of the former Sark Folk Festival.

Sarkfest was staged in fields near the Coupee, owned by the Couldridge family. The facilities were badly damaged during Storm Ciaran leading to the decision to cancel this summer’s festival as the repairs could not be done before the July dates set aside for the event.
