However, the Home Affairs Committee has this afternoon released a statement in reference to a governance report being published by Policy & Resources in the coming days.
“The Committee has been working with the Policy & Resources Committee ( to finalise a report which P&R commissioned looking at governance within Home Affairs,” it said. “The two committees met on Tuesday this week, prior to the Committee for Home Affairs being able to meet to discuss the final draft for factual accuracy, disclosure issues and which had only arrived at the end of last week.
“P&R was advised that the Committee would need to meet to finalise its views. It was then arranged for this to be considered this coming Monday in order to finalise its views. The President of P&R was advised accordingly.
“Following the legal and data protection advice received by Home Affairs and with the serious disclosure issues which were also raised with P&R, the Committee for Home Affairs was therefore both shocked and disappointed to learn by letter that P&R would be publishing the report this weekend before the Committee had even had the chance to meet to consider it.
“There remain serious concerns over the way the report has been produced and the way conclusions have been reached based on subjective comments from individuals which are not backed up by tangible evidence.
“The Committee will reserve further comment until the Report is in the public domain.”
Deputy Neil Inder, who shared the statement, added on social media that: “Deputies Prow and Graham have resigned from the Committee. Having spoken to one of them today, I wouldn’t read too much into that.”
