The defendant is facing four historic counts of indecent assault, which are alleged to have taken place in the 1980s and ’90s.

One of the counts relates to several different assaults of a similar nature, against the same complainant.

The defendant was arrested on 6 February 2019 and interviewed by Guernsey Police that day, when he denied the allegations. He was released on bail while investigations continued.

Crown Advocate Fiona Russell opened the prosecution case yesterday, when the Royal Court heard evidence from both complainants.

Advocate Sam Steel will be presenting the defendant’s defence.

Judge Russell Finch and nine court Jurats are expected to reach a verdict by the end of the week.
