Islanders will soon have their last major chance to have a say on proposed changes to Guernsey’s planning blueprint.
Guernsey’s Development & Planning Authority (DPA) today confirmed the date for a crucial public hearing on proposed changes to the Island Development Plan (IDP).
Running from 13 January to 23 January, it is the last major public opportunity for comment before the final policy recommendations are drafted.
The hearing will cover the main topics of any proposed changes. As part of this, the independent inspector has invited some of those who have made representations to comment.
In the final session of the hearing, those who have made representations and who want to speak but haven’t been specifically invited to do so will have their opportunity.
Following the hearing, an independent inspector will produce a report with recommendations to the DPA.
DPA President, Deputy Neil Inder emphasised that no decisions have been made just yet.
Deputy Inder said: “Thank you to everyone who has commented on the IDP Review so far. I want to be clear, nothing has been decided yet. These are still proposals at this stage.
“We look forward to this continuing to move ahead through the public hearing and beyond.”
