The Guernsey community has raised £7,600 to help fund more than 150 winter food parcels for families in need, following the Rotary Club’s annual Christmas flag days.
The money was collected on 28 and 29 November, with the funds going towards 154 Rotary winter food parcels distributed across the island.
136 volunteers helped collect donations over the two days, while 17 shops and businesses hosted collection points.
Rotary Club of Guernsey President Carla Bauer said the response highlighted the island’s community spirit.
“Guernsey has once again shown what a caring and compassionate community it is,” she said.
“These Rotary Christmas Food Parcels bring real relief and comfort to individuals and families who may otherwise struggle during the winter months. None of this would be possible without our volunteers, participating shops, and the remarkable generosity of the public. We are extremely grateful.”
