A technical issue has come up today, and engineers have to be flown in from the UK to fix it.
Before those repairs are done, passengers looking to fly out of the island are being advised to allow at least 90 minutes to get through check-in and security to meet flight departure times.
It’s not yet known when the broken equipment will be fixed, but a spokesperson for Guernsey Airport said if an engineer can get in to the stand tonight, then it will be back to working order in time for tomorrow’s flights.
“A piece of equipment has suffered a technical problem and could cause long queues, and the 90 minutes is a recommendation for passengers if they want to catch their fights,” the spokesperson said.
Due to a technical issue, passengers should allow extra time to go through security at Guernsey Airport particularly at peak. We recommend at least 90 minutes for check in and security screening in order to meet your flight.
