A planning application has been submitted by Red (L’Eree Bay) Limited, which has owned the former hotel since 2019.

It’s part of the RED fund, managed by Ravenscroft, which focuses on property development

The west coast site was a hotel, formerly owned by Randalls, with more than 30 rooms, before its closure in 2020. At the time the closure was attributed to the hotel not being economically viable.

Since then the property has fallen into a derelict state with hoardings restricting access to its carpark and grounds.

No plans for the site were announced immediately, but last year permission was granted for 14 local market properties to be built there.

This was to be include two one-bed, nine two-bed, and one three-bed flats, and one two-bed and one three-bedroomed house.

A fresh planning application has now been submitted to demolish the existing building, outbuildings, and substation, and alter the vehicle access. The hotel building could be replaced with three buildings to contain 15 flats, and two outbuildings to the east of the existing property.
