The Guernsey Service Rifle Heritage Group is marking this Armistice Day with a special shoot at its indoor range, alongside a new trophy to pay homage to those who served and the many who made the ultimate sacrifice across all conflicts.

The aim of the club is to promote both target shooting and the island’s vast military and civilian shooting heritage, celebrating achievements that are truly world class.

The group has formed close bonds with the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry Association. Both work to keep the memory of the Regiment and the men who served alive, partly by holding an annual shoot for an RGLI trophy using period rifles.

Colin Dodd, of the RGLI Association, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to work with the Heritage Rifle Group and to support them in remembering the men of the island who gave so much to ensure we can live peacefully on our island home today. As the trophy says: ‘Lest we forget.'”
