Tickets go on general sale today ahead of the 2026 Guernsey Literary Festival.
The event takes place between 23 April and 7 May, featuring a varied line-up of authors, thinkers and performers spanning literature, history, science, politics, health, nature, business, poetry, music, food writing, and comedy.
Among the guest speakers this year are a number of local authors, and writers who have based their stories the island.
Jill Bray, Kelly Priaulx, and RJ Verity will feature in a ‘Local Voices’ panel event on the opening day of the Literary Festival, chaired by Nick Le Messurier.
They will discuss their own debut novels which each focus on a different period of history.
Ms Priaulx’s novel ‘Operation Green Arrow’ is set during the Occupation, while Ms Bray’s ‘A Brotherly Devotion’ is set in 13th-century Yorkshire, and Ms Verity’s ‘Poole of Light’ is about a boy’s rise from a Durham mining town to the heights of British cinema.
Ken Tough and Jose Day will explore the occupation diaries of Winifred Harvey MBE in their talk on 25 April.
Guernsey’s resident Royal look-a-like, Jane Mosse will be giving a talk on 26 April where she’ll discuss her life as Queen Camilla’s double.
Guernsey resident Anna Stothard explores the themes of cults and social media in her new novel ‘Follow Her’ – her talk on 27 April will be held at the Guille-Allès Library.
Also at the library, on 29 April, writer and actor Anna Brook-Mitchell will discuss her debut novel ‘Motherfaker’ which is set in Guernsey.
Local history will be brought to life through a series of talks including authors Duncan Barrett and Nuala Calvi discussing their book ‘Blitz Kids’ and Mavis Pope’s memoir ‘Looking Back to Alderney’ offers a moving account of her childhood during the Occupation.
Younger audiences are catered for with Margaret Jones hosting an interactive family event, ‘Victor Hugo’s Animal Friends’, introducing children to history through playful rhymes and creativity.

Tickets went on sale to members on Monday and they go on general sale on Saturday 14 February at 10:00.
