GO is a local charity that provides training and support to disadvantaged people in the island, while also providing recycling and retail services.
The appointment of Lt Gen Cripwell will be marked by an official opening ceremony of GO’s new shop and training facility at Southside.
“I am delighted to take up the role of Patron for GO, a charity that assists disadvantaged people in Guernsey,” said Lt Gen Cripwell. “The work they undertake in the community to develop the skills and confidence of individuals to find fulfilling employment is to be greatly admired and something I strongly support.”
Paul Meader, the Chairman of GO’s board of directors, said: “We’re really pleased to welcome His Excellency to the team at GO, with his expressed commitment to help us continue and develop our work in helping the members of Guernsey’s community who need it.”
The opening ceremony will take place on 13 June at 11:00.
