Queens Road Medical Practice has introduced a new, nurse-led advice clinic for patients with a medical diagnosis of Crohn’s disease or Ulcerative Colitis.
The service aims to improve local access to specialist support and reduce pressure on GP and hospital services.
It’s open to patients at any stage of their condition, provided they have a confirmed diagnosis, said Mae Skillen, a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
“We aim to empower patients to better understand and manage their condition.
“Living with Crohn’s disease or Ulcerative Colitis can be challenging, and this clinic provides a dedicated space for patients to receive expert advice, personalised support, and continuity of care.”
Consultations will last 20 minutes and focus on individual patient needs, with the clinic providing long-term disease management, medication and lifestyle advice, clinical monitoring, and structured flare management.
