Event and activity organisers in the tourism sector can once again apply for financial support from the States to develop ideas to attract more visitors to the island.

The cash will support projects taking place between January 2026 and April 2027, with events that encourage multi-night stays during the off-season months particularly encouraged.

Grants will be decided by the Tourism Management Board, the arms length body which oversees tourism strategy, for activities that meet the States’ wider tourism goals.

They are also keen to consider things which appeal to the French market following a surge in visitors travelling on the St Malo route following the deal with Brittany Ferries.

Chair Hannah Beacom said there is a “special focus on experiences that celebrate food, wellness, that connect with our UK and increased European visitors.

“Whether it’s a mindful retreat, a culinary pop-up, or a cross-cultural celebration, we want to hear from you.”

Applications must meet some or all of the following criteria:

  • Driving enhanced on-island experience for the visitor and thereby enhancing
  • Guernsey’s tourism product.
  • Driving incremental visitor growth.
  • Promote business or economic development where there is a clear tangible benefit for the local economy.
  • Build local entrepreneurial capacity.
  • The available budget for grant support is limited, and it is the Board’s intention to support as many providers as possible with grants.

£123,000 was awarded earlier this year to projects including the Guernsey Rally, literary festival, food events and history activities.
