The event has been organised by siblings James (17) and Charlotte Cleal (16) of the Grammar School, who are calling on deputies to commit Guernsey to achieving carbon net neutrality by 2030.

Miss Cleal said a visit to the fast-disappearing Mer de Glace Glacier in France sparked the discussion: “It was heartbreaking to see first-hand the impact climate change is having as we speak. This is no longer an issue for tomorrow.”
The pair were inspired by global student ‘strikes’ last month and have organised the local event to coincide with further student action being taken across the UK and rest of the world.
The meeting will take place tomorrow from 12:45 in the Grammar School Hall.
