Jersey Customs has confirmed an investigation is “ongoing” after Jersey Customs officers seized products from a CBD shop in St Helier.

Officers spoke to staff in the Bailiwick Botanicals cannabis wellness store and subsequently took products away.

Bailiwick Botanicals has stores in Guernsey and Jersey. When asked if similar action was taking place in Guernsey a spokesperson for Bailiwick Law Enforcement said:

“Officers attended a shop in Town this morning [20 February] to offer words of advice around a product, following action taken in Jersey against a shop selling similar products.”

A statement released by the Jersey Government said: “Jersey Customs & Immigration officers attended a St Helier address this morning as a result of an investigation.

“This is an ongoing investigation and no further comment can be made at this time.”

In a statement, Bailiwick Botanicals said: “As a company, we at Bailiwick Botanicals, have always worked with local authorities to ensure that all of our products are safe for consumers and abide by all local laws.

“Bailiwick Botanicals requests the appropriate certificates of analysis for each product from our suppliers and Customs are currently undertaking additional testing on a range of our products.

“We expect to have them back on sale shortly and apologise to our customers for the inconvenience.”

It’s understood that one of the products seized in Jersey was a cherry flavoured CBD oil.
