25 local charities will benefit from over £100,000 raised through the thousands of walkers taking on the Saffery Rotary Walk.
1,200 people walked the 39-mile coastal route on 7 June this year – a record-breaking number of registrations.
It was the 26th edition of the walk which also saw a rise in sponsorship contributions.
Each of the charities benefiting received their share of the funds in a special presentation at Government House directly from His Excellency, the Lieutenant-Governor, Lieutenant General Sir Richard Cripwell KBE CB.
Walk Chairman Simon Milsted described the turnout and totals as “phenomenal.
“We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved this year. Every person who signed up, raised money, volunteered, or supported our walkers has played a part in something genuinely special.”
Lisa Vizia, Director at title sponsor Saffery Trust, added: “Supporting the Saffery Rotary Walk is one of the most meaningful things we do. It’s not just about fundraising – it’s about recognising the hundreds of people who come together each year to give back, in ways big and small.
“From the early morning marshals to the final few steps at the finish line, the Walk is a celebration of everything good about our island. We are incredibly proud to be part of it.”
“Huge thanks to His Excellency, Lady Cripwell and the team at Government House for their ongoing support and warm hospitality once again this year.”
The Committee will soon begin preparing for the next event which takes place on 6 June 2026.
