Two teenagers were rescued by lifeboat crews after they were blown out to sea off the coast of Sark, this Saturday.

The teenagers were sharing a paddleboard in Dixcart Bay, when they were blown out to sea.

The RNLI’s inshore lifeboat, ‘Harold Hobbs’, rushed to help them, leaving just 10 minutes after Guernsey Coastguard received the call at 16:30.

The teenagers were found by a civilian boat on the rocks at the Coupee before the ILB arrived.

The lifeboat crew performed a precautionary medical assessment after the teens were brought onboard, and found them to be healthy and unhurt.

They were taken back to their parents on Sark, before being taken on to Guernsey.

The Coastguard said it “would like to remind people who engage in waterborne activities to assess the tide and weather and be aware of their own capabilities before entering the waiter.”
