People will have another opportunity to quiz politicians on Guernsey’s proposed tax reforms this week, with St Martin’s Douzaine hosting a public meeting on Wednesday evening.
The event will begin at 19:00 on 8 July and will give members of the public the chance to put questions directly to representatives of Policy & Resources (P&R) ahead of this month’s crucial States debate on tax reform.
St Martin’s Douzaine has said everyone is welcome to attend Wednesday’s meeting, which comes as debate continues over proposals including the introduction of GST and wider changes to the island’s tax system.
The meeting follows a public hearing held by Scrutiny Management on Monday morning, where P&R was questioned about its proposals in a formal parliamentary setting.
While members of the public were able to attend that hearing and watch online, they were not permitted to ask questions.
The States is due to consider the package later this month.
