The Pink Ladies Breast Cancer Charity’s 2025 Sunset Walk, sponsored by TPA, has raised over £25,000 to date for islanders affected by breast cancer, and the tally is still climbing.
This year marked the 10th walk over the last 18 years, with over 1,500 people registering for the 10.5-mile walk around Guernsey’s coast. 900 of those registered in the final three weeks, with 491 deciding to sign up on the day itself.
Naomi Leach, the charity’s Chair, stated that this year’s walk surpassed the numbers registered and the amount raised compared to the 2023 event, highlighting the tangible impact of the community’s support: “We couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. This year’s walk beat the numbers registered and the amount raised compared to the last walk that took place in 2023. Our hearts are full.”
Ms Leach continued: The event was filled with so much love and support, and the atmosphere at the starts and at the end party in town, really demonstrated what an amazing community we are. I can’t thank everyone enough for taking part or helping us make this event happen. We’re excited to get planning for 2027.”

The Charity says that approximately 70% of participants chose to tackle the 10-mile route from Grandes Rocques to Town, while 30% opted for the 3.5-mile walk from Bordeaux. Over 190 children, some as young as nine, also took part.
The top individual online sponsorships raised were by Sarah Arblaster (£485), Olivia Venosa (£470), and Carrie-Anne Ingrouille (£400).
The top three groups that raised the most money were the Boobie Bunch (£1,070), Temple View Dental Practice (£495), and Sister Act (ive) 2025 (£185).

Pink Ladies says that all of the funds raised will directly support islanders affected by breast cancer and fund awareness initiatives, and that the online sponsorship platform remains open for further donations.
The next Sunset Walk is scheduled for June 2027, but the charity will be celebrating its 25th anniversary next year, (2026). They are seeking sponsors for the event and encourage interested parties to get in contact.
