The survey was conducted by Island Global Research for the Guernsey Dairy, to identify trends and offer insight into how people in Guernsey consume dairy products.

The key findings are:

  • 90% of islanders live in households which drink Guernsey Dairy milk

  • 88% of islanders consider the quality of Guernsey Dairy milk as ‘excellent’

  • Low-Fat milk (blue) remains the most frequently consumed at 69%

  • 80% of islanders live in households which regularly consume ‘block’ butter and of these 83% prefer Guernsey Dairy’s butter over other brands

“The data obtained from the survey provides us with a thorough insight into current consumer trends, and not only of the high regard Guernsey Dairy products are held in but also the general views of Islanders on maintaining a dairy farming industry on the island,” said the Managing Director of Guernsey Dairy, Andrew Tabel.

“We have already begun developing a spreadable Guernsey Dairy butter using a blend of different ingredients as well as a range of new premium ice cream flavours to complement the existing range of family favourites.”
