The issue was raised on social media by a concerned parent with Guernsey Police confirming officers are investigating the matter.
“Officers are investigating reports of two separate groups on social media sharing large volumes of inappropriate content,” said a spokesperson for Guernsey Police.
“People have added young people from the island to those groups. In this instance these groups are on Whatsapp and Snapchat.
“While enquiries are ongoing, we’d strongly encourage parents to both be aware of what social media groups their children with devices are in. We’d also encourage them to speak to their young people about not accepting unexpected invites to groups.”
