In partnership with Skipton International, she has produced them for a series of postboxes across the parishes with permission granted by Guernsey Post.
Ms O’Brien said: “The idea behind these toppers is to bring joy to people, and a smile to their faces. I am conscious that we will have many visitors to Guernsey during the games, and I hope I am adding to their positive experience by making them smile.
“I am raising money for four local charities throughout next week from donations and hope everyone will give generously. They can find out more on my Facebook page – Guernsey Post Box Toppers.
“Thank you to Skipton for their financial support, which enabled me to do this.”
Jim Coupe, Skipton’s Managing Director, said: “We like to support community initiatives, and Tamara’s designs always make people stop and look. If we have played just some small part in making people smile, then her initiative has achieved its aim”
The Games’ opening ceremony is set to bring a carnival atmosphere to St. Peter Port on the evening of Saturday 8 July, with a packed week of sporting action to follow.
