The States Vet said: “Poultry can therefore not be imported into the Bailiwick from Jersey at this time without a licence issued by the States Vets.
“We cannot emphasize enough, the importance of good biosecurity and remaining vigilant to the virus.”
The GSPCA said it continues to be called out to suspected cases of Avian Bird Flu in Guernsey.

Manager of the GSPCA, Steve Byrne, said: “It is so sad to hear about the Avian Bird Flu case at a poultry keepers in Jersey and we as we are sure they are hoping it is an isolated case on the island.”
“Sadly we continue to see sick birds due to possible Avian Flu and it is so sad that the disease is so deadly.”
“Every day we are called out and receive sick birds and we continue to also have those reported that are deceased across the Guernsey and other islands.
“For those that keep birds outside its really important to keep the food and water away from wild birds to limit the risks and follow the advice, as well as registering your flock if poultry with the States Vet.”
