A passerby saw them on Sunday and sent these pictures to Express.

“Someone has put a lot of effort into building these little formations on the Albecq sea wall,” they said. “It looks brilliant and putting a lot of smiles on faces.”

The piles of stones have appeared since the lockdown started towards the end of March.

While fewer people are moving around the island on a daily basis, more people are enjoying family leisure time by taking walks, including on our beaches.

Similar piles of stones have appeared elsewhere but none as large as the Albecq exhibition.

Stone stacking is described as a “meditative artistic skill” by some.

It has seemingly grown in popularity as an art form in recent years as has pebble painting, with many hidden around the island for others to find.
